Following early morning pick-up from Thessaloniki, journey by luxurious air-conditioned bus to Kalambaka for an estimated arrival time of 11:30. Upon arrival, go to the famous rock formations of Meteora and marvel at the enormous columns of rock that rise sharply from the ground. Settled in the 9th century by hermetic monks of the Eastern Orthodox Church, Meteora was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. Of the monasteries that were established in this implausible location, 6 remain well preserved and 4 are still inhabited. Spend approximately 2 hours visiting 2 of the monasteries, and see a vast array of frescoes and religious iconography. From Thessaloniki the journey is long but broken with just and sufficient stops. The landscape you come across is pleasant with tobacco, vines and cotton cultivations. The site of the meteors with sheer rocks on which the monasteries stand out is truly exciting. The two monasteries visited of Varlaàm with the nuns and that of Roussanou are both of great interest.

Very good excursion. The meteors offer a magnificent landscape, and the guide was interesting enough to make us forget the length of the journey. Thank you also to the company for agreeing to modify the meeting point to give us one closer to our apartment. A fantastic experience. We recommend 100%!

Beautiful experience. The Demetra guide is really very good!

The place is truly indescribable! A must see. The Demetra guide very prepared and really addictive! We did not have very precise information for the bus meeting point. We had indicated a hotel near the center. At the reception they advised us to present ourselves in Aristostelous square near the white statue of Venizelos. Comfortable and very precise coach. Unfortunately, little time to fully enjoy the beauty of Meteora. Not exceptional restaurant. Highly recommended!
