5 must-sees from the top of Montparnasse Tower

At a height of 210 meters, the Montparnasse Tower is Paris' tallest building, and yet its spectacular panoramas over the city remain a surprising touristic secret. Here are five things not to miss from the tower's observation deck!

  • Eiffel Tower

    1. Eiffel Tower

Imagine spending an afternoon in queues just to get a view of Paris without its most iconic landmark. That's what you'll get at the Eiffel Tower, not at Montparnasse!

  • Montparnasse Cemetery

    2. Montparnasse Cemetery

The tower boasts a gorgeous view of the Luxembourg Gardens, but better still is the breathtaking perspective directly over the famous cemetery where Samuel Beckett was buried.

  • Orly Airport

    3. Orly Airport

It'll take the clearest of days, but with a little luck you'll be able to see airplanes flying in and out of Paris' southernmost airport!

  • Sunset

    4. Sunset

To see the lights flicker on across the city, the charm of the Sacré-Cœur takes some beating. But for the view alone, the Montparnasse Tower offers the best in Paris!

  • Gare Montparnasse

    5. Gare Montparnasse

If you do visit the tower after dark, turn your back on the usual landmarks for a minute to watch illuminated trains leave Gare Montparnasse toward Paris' southern suburbs.

There was no problem with the tickets and getting in the tower. The staff was polite. The view is amazing, especially at night. The part of the 56th floor was unfourtanetly closed bevause of the party but the terrace on the 59th floor was open so we could see the whole city. Worthy experience.

Probably the best way to see Paris from above and it's super fast, because you can take the elevator to the 56th floor in no time and have a fantastic view in all directions and the advantage you can also see the Eiffel Tower.

definitely the best view of Paris and the eiffel tower. I recommend getting there a little early so you can get a good view for the sunset. The drinks on the rooftop are also reasonably priced

Great view over Paris! The kaleidoscopes on the roof terrace are also very nice: you can take nice pictures with them. The kids loved this trip!

Better than climbing Tour Eiffel. The view is incredible,go between sunset and night.
