From Marrakesh: 2-Day Mount Toubkal Trek

1. From Marrakesh: 2-Day Mount Toubkal Trek

On the first day, ride to Imlil from Marrakesh and begin your trek. You'll head along the Ait Mizane Valley, pass through the village of Aremd and onto the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch. You’ll follow mule tracks into the high rocky cliffs, climbing steadily above the snow line until you reach the Toukbal Refuge. Rest here for the night. On the second day, you’ll follow the southern circle route. The climb itself is not highly strenuous, but scree and altitude changes may make it difficult in parts. Don't worry - there are plenty of views to distract you along the way. When you reach the summit, soak in the 360-degree-view. You'll see the Marrakech Plain and the High Atlas Mountains to the north, all the way to the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert in the south.  From the peak, you’ll head back down the mountain and return to Marrakesh via Imill.

What people are saying about Toubkal National Park

Beautiful nature + hospitable people = super day out.

Highly recommended, this day trip. Roads and trails were easily accessible, and although we were in the mountains the journey was not difficult. Walking around at our leisure, we had plenty of time to enjoy the many beautiful and wide views. Guide Mohammed spoke excellent English and regularly came up with uncommonly funny things. The highlight was the warm welcome we received at Mohammed's house, followed by the very extensive, very tasty lunch (many a restaurant cannot compete with this). Beautiful nature and hospitable people together make a great day out, that summarizes our experiences briefly.

Fantastic, challenging experience

We really lucked out with our guide, Mohammed, who set a great pace up the mountain. His knowledge, skills and adaptability really made the trip something special. Toubkal is a challenging climb in two days, but the great food stop at the shrine half way up and the refuge at base camp really helped. Seeing the sunrise at 4000m was a magical, once in a lifetime experience This is a highly recommended trip.

ibrahim our driver drove us to all the places and was really inviting towards us. He event extended our trip by driving another route and ali took us on a mule ride and invited us for a tasty lunch.

Really amazing trip. Excellent guide and driver. We walked around Imlil valley with many great views to the mountains. And my camel Aisha was very kind as well.

very good safe journey, with minibus. We three women felt we were well looked after, we were the only participants.
