Explore one of the oldest monuments in London on an early morning guided tour of the Tower of London, and see the Crown Jewels before the crowds arrive. Skip the long lines to the legendary site, where 3 English queens were executed, and get a brief introduction to the origins of the attraction before you meet one of the Yeomen Warders, more commonly known as Beefeaters. Learn about the traditions of these elite guardsmen, historically responsible for the prisoners at the tower and for safeguarding the Crown Jewels. Journey through centuries of British history and see where Guy Fawkes was put on trial. Marvel at magnificent orbs, swords, rings, crowns and scepters used for royal ceremonies and coronations. You enter the tower at a very early time and get to see the doors opening by the guards which is a ceremony I wasn't expecting and was very nice. The beefeater does like in the Tower and explains a lot of nice stuff, so you do enjoy the explanations. Finally you can see the Crown Jewels before the gigantic lines form, so you can fully enjoy the visit to the tower. Certainly worth it!

This was a small group tour and we were able to be with the Beefeater earlier than regular ticket holders. This was the real advantage. The Beefeaters do the same tour for general ticket holders but later and larger groups. We were also able to get in line for the Royal Crown Jewels. When we exited the exhibit, the line was literally blocks long!
