Full description
Experience the Central Section of the Great Barrier Reef with a full-day tour aboard a 14-meter custom-built vessel, the MV Adrenalin. Make use of the boat’s facilities, including fully shaded areas, a sun deck, stabilizers, toilet, shower, and enjoy easy access in and out of the water. The Central Section of the Great Barrier Reef is a little further off the Queensland Coast than other sections. As a result, it has some of the best underwater sights of the whole Great Barrier Reef. Once aboard the boat, you’ll head towards Lodestone Reef. The area boasts a diversity of sites, coral cover, marine life, and protection from the current. Look out for coral bommies with white coral sand sea floors, or for large gutters that run between the coral and offer sanctuary to hundreds of reef fish. Gaze down through the crystal clear water at the colorful coral walls. Enjoy morning tea, lunch, and beverages onboard the ship as you spend a full day on the water. Depths at Lodestone Reef range from 1 meter to 20 meters, making the area perfect for snorkellers, beginners, and experienced divers. Look out for colorful reef fish, clownfish, angelfish, and incredible sights such as turtles, stingrays and, reef sharks.

experience was brilliant but the booking was made for only one person after paying for two and they never asked for any info on us such as sizes for wetsuits.

As a 1st time snorkler I was extremely disconcerted at th 35knot winds and big swells. I felt the tour was more appropriate for experienced divers only. Tour personnel were aware it was my 1st time and still encouraged me to venture out alone. There was talk about staying with buddies but this was lip service only. I advised i was not strong swimmer, 1st time snorkeller , big swell with accompanying big winds and they would have let me go off by myself. Obviously i didn't as it was extremely unsafe.

The staff were very helpful. However, time management was a poor. We were asked to arrive at 6:45 and the boat didn't leave the harbour until around 8am. We were asked to come back to the boat for lunch, we did while others were still in the water - would have loved to have been told that it was Ok not to take a break. Could have eaten on the way back and enjoyed more of the reef.
