The experience with Getyourguide was amazing. We arrived to the farm and met and helped feed the 300 or so reindeer. It was a great hands on experience followed by a 30 minute sleigh ride (or 10 mins available too). It was worth paying the extra for a longer ride along the edge of a beautiful fjord. We then had lunch and a tan from the Sami guide which was very interesting around a log fire. I am almost 80 and found the experience very manageable. As long as you're able to sit down on the sleigh, the rest is very relaxing and enjoyable. The trip is what it says on the tin! Highly recommended.
Over 300 friendly hungry reindeer and unlimited food to feed them up close. If we got cold we could pop into a hut for coffee, teas and cookies. Lunch was delicious, reindeer or veggie stew and more hot beverages. We chose the 10min reindeer sled just for the experience, they move quite slow and steady pace After lunch was sami story time where we learned about the culture, the reindeer and the people. Overall a very enjoyable trip and the staff involved were helpful and knowledgeable
Altogether this trip is well organized, the meeting point is easy to find, the guide and Sami hosts are nice and friendly. Though no sledding due to lack of snow, I still had a great time feeding these reindeers, other than the reindeers, the ranch is surrounded by beautiful mountains and fjords which were worth taking pictures, and don’t forget to taste the reindeer soup, it is delicious. In one word, I strongly recommend this tour to you.
Very nice experience! It was possible to walk together with reindeers, feed them, pet them and observe them in the place they live. It was also possible to sit inside at the fire and warm yourself, whenever you got cold. Fantastic food and warm drinks were available as well. I appreciated the story telling about sami history and culture. And the “joiking” at the end made me even cry a little! Highly recommend!
It was a fun day out feeding the reindeers, and going for the reindeer sledding thereafter! The Sami people were very friendly, and it was interesting to learn about the Sami culture. The stew cooked by them were delicious too. Not forgetting the amazing surrounding scenery of the lakes and mountains. Would definitely consider doing it again in future!
