Full description
Experience the wilderness of Tromsø from the most authentic perspective on a half-day dog sled experience. Learn the art of mushing and let a team of husky dogs pull you across the snow. Jump aboard the sled and shout the command to make the dogs move. Each sled will be pulled by our trained athletic dogs but don't forget, sometimes you will have to help them out and push a sled a little bit. Feel the fresh air on your face and get incredible views along the way. Each sled is shared with a passenger, and at the half-way mark you will get the chance to swap places. Return to camp for a warm meal and time around an open fire.

Loved this experience. Accidentally booked self driving when I did not want to drive my own sled so look out for how you book to meet your expectations. Nice people working with the dogs and dogs seem to be well taken care of. Beautiful scenery on the ride. Highly recommend.

A great experience. The tour lasted about 4 1/2 hours, of which about 1 hour was the sleigh ride. Unfortunately, it started to rain a little during my tour, but the suits provided (I was admittedly very skeptical at first...) kept me warm and dry. About the procedure: After a half-hour drive we reached the dog camp. There you got the mentioned suits (but it wasn't obligatory). Then you could make a little contact with the dogs and got a few explanations. For those who wanted to steer themselves, there was a brief introduction, and then off we went. You drive several sledges in a row over a large circuit with beautiful views. Self-steering is very simple: you just have to apply the brake and shift your weight every now and then to help the dogs a little. Otherwise the dogs know the way. Finally there was a hot soup, drinks and cake :)

Overall, this is a unique experience that one should try while visiting Tromso. Loved how we got the opportunity to mush our own dog sled. I recommend going out in smaller groups of maybe 4 as we went out in a larger group of 7-8+ groups and it was difficult to stay positive & enjoy the experience when we are constantly stopping. Loved the quality time with the dogs afterwards & the reindeer stew was delicious.
