Take an unforgettable guided excursion in the north of Tromsø where you will get up-close and personal with friendly reindeer as you hand feed them, learn about the Sami culture, and enjoy a warm lunch with hot drinks. After being picked up in Tromso, take in the scenic views on the way. When you arrive, meet the gentle reindeer. Hand feed them, pet their furry coats, and get plenty of time to capture magical photos with them. Be welcomed into a lavvo-hut (Sámi tent) to warm up. Inside you will be served a range of hot beverages to drink (coffee, tea, chocolate) and a warm meal for lunch. Listen as your guide tells you about the Sami way of life with reindeer. Once we arrived we’ve been splited into 2 groups, the first was going for sledding first, the other one for feeding, and then we switched. I would personally recommand to either : - Go sledding first if you are a bit scared of animals as the reindeers were super hungry and so a bit pushing. It can be a bit scaring even though they are very nice animal and no one has been hurt. After the first group they’re probably a bit less hungry, thus a bit less pushing. - Go feeding first if you’re not a cold person, as if you go sledding first you will be cold during the ride, and the feeding is right after, which means you might not stay that long for feeding because you will be too cold ! After the activities we got tea, biscuits and the meal (note that if you don’t take the vegetarian option, you will get a reindeer meal), and personal stories from the Sami guide. Nb : if you’ve only booked for feeding, which was my case, you can decide to finally go for sledding too, for 40 more euros

Loved this excursion. After just a short 35 min drive we arrived at the destination. We were met with smiles and thermal suits. We were then given clear and simple instructions on feeding these lovely reindeer. Plenty of reindeer time before heading in for a delicious warm lunch and to learn about the Sami culture. Guides were awesome.

Literally lived my best life for 4 hours. Feeding the reindeer was amazing. The whole Sami experience was very interesting and I learned alot . It was incredibly cold though but suits were provided. Be aware the reindeer can get a little fiesty but it is only because they want the food. I would recommend this experience. Only gripe is the tour guide who picked us up told us nothing , wasn't very chatty at all and wasn't overly helpful either at the pick up point. Still giving the actual activity 5 stars as was epic. Wear good boots too!
