Then, travel to the pre-Colombian city of Chichén Itzá on the Yucatán Peninsula. Located in the Tinúm Municipality, Chichén Itzá is famous for its step pyramid of El Castillo. Benefit from the services of a guide to learn the history of the ancient city and journey back to the days of the Mayan civilization. Discover why the huge city played such an important role from the Late Classic period (600 AD) into the early part of the Post Classic period (1200 AD), and why it remained a huge center of pilgrimage until the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the site, with the option to include a non-alcoholic drink on the VIP and Deluxe tour options. After, visit one of the secret sinkholes, or cenotes, sacred to the Mayan people before returning to your starting point.

Experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to swim with the largest concentration of Whale Sharks in the world, just north of Isla Contoy.  Start your tour with early morning pickup from any hotel or Airbnb in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, and Tulum. Head towards the all-new private marina located at the Punta Sam Ferry Terminal in Cancun for a quick check-in. Before boarding, enjoy pastries with coffee while listening to the instructions and safety briefing.  Once in the boat, get kitted out with mandatory life vests and full snorkeling gear. All boats depart at 8 AM and navigate for approximately 45 minutes to the whale shark area north of Contoy. Once you have found the sharks, begin the swimming and snorkeling. Enjoy 2 to 3 immersions per person always with 2 people and 1 guide in the water. Spend a full 2.5 hours in total with the Whale Sharks, also observing Manta Rays, Dolphins, and Turtles.  After swimming with the sharks, make a final stop in beautiful Playa Norte beach in Isla Mujeres, considered one of the 20 most beautiful beaches in the world. Here, the boats will remain for about 1 hour for you to relax on the beach or do some more snorkeling. Return to Cancun at around 1 PM where the transportation will take you back to your hotel or Airbnb.

Wander the picturesque streets, take a swim in the clear water, and visit the Yalahau Cenote (lagoon) in this full-day excursion to the Island of Holbox.   The day begins with pick up from select hotels in the Riviera Maya, Tulum, and Playa del Carmen, where guests will travel in an air-conditioned van to this secluded island on the north coast. Board a small boat that will take you to the island and spend the day exploring the small streets and pristine beaches.    

Be picked up from your accommodation at 5:45 AM in Tulum, 6:45 AM in Playa del Carmen, or 7:45 AM in Cancun. During the drive, your guide will explain the itinerary and teach you about whale sharks and their habitat. Upon arriving at the marina, relax and eat breakfast. Depart to the whale shark area and start your search. Once you spot a whale shark, go snorkeling. There is a maximum of 1 ship per whale shark and 2 people per guide. During the trip, your guide will teach you about the fauna of this ecosystem.  Sandwiches, fruit, soft drinks, and water will be served. Then, you will return to Isla Mujeres for lunch: sandwiches and shrimp ceviche or fish with guacamole and fruit. After an hour of relaxing or swimming at the beach Playa Norte in Islas Mujeres, return to the marina at 3:30 PM.

Head out to sea and visit two of the most beautiful islands off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. Enjoy a 1-hour snorkel and see the vibrant underwater world of the reef. Stop at Isla Contoy, a nature reserve known for its variety of tropical bird species. Wander the colorful streets of Isla Mujeres and see its world-famous beaches. After being picked up from your hotel, transfer to the jetty in Cancún, where you will board a comfortable speedboat to travel about 40 minutes to Isla Contoy. Your first stop is a guided 1-hour reef snorkel tour where you will enjoy spotting brightly colored corals and the plentiful tropical fish. Next, visit the protected nature reserve of Contoy Island which boasts an incredible population of bird species, and clear shallow water perfect for snorkeling, swimming, or just relaxing Caribbean-style. After a delicious lunch on the beach, you will have some free time on the island before we leave for Isla Mujeres. Once at Isla Mujeres, enjoy one hour of free time on this charming Caribbean island to wander the colorful streets and see the postcard beaches. Then, take the boat back to the pier in Cancún and upon arrival on the mainland, you will be dropped back at your hotel.

Enjoy a sailboat ride in front of the Tulum ruins before dipping into the water to snorkel and explore the reef to see corals and fishes in their natural habitat. Enjoy plenty of photo opportunities to remember your experience. The experience starts at the Pocna Tulum Hotel beach, where your crew for the day will be waiting for you. After meeting the staff, seeing the boat, and getting a short safety introduction briefing, set off on your sailing adventure. Once on the water, immediately start taking in views of the clear waters of the Mexican Caribbean. During the tour, the captain will show you the famous ruins of the Castle in Tulum. See the ruins from a rare up-close perspective on the water. Learn about ancient Mayan people who used this important city as a port. Stop near the reed and grab your snorkel equipment to start the snorkel activity. Marvel at the flora and fauna of Mesoamerican Reef, the second-largest reef in the world. Enjoy approximately 45 minutes of snorkeling. After your sailing adventure, get taken back to the Pocna Tulum Hotel beach, after which you are free to stay at the beach club to purchase drinks and food and explore at your own pace.

After pickup, on the way to Tulum, learn from your guides about the sea turtles and diverse marine life of the Great Mayan Reef, as well as the unique natural conditions of the cenotes. In Tulum, snorkeling equipment is provided and as you head out on the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, you get a rare view of the impressive Mayan city of Tulum. Swim with sea turtles, and admire the colorful Mesoamerican reef, full of fish and wonderful corals. After your scuba dive, it’s time for a snack and a drive to Chikin-ha. There, explore the fantastic underground world of caverns and natural sinkholes as you visit cenotes. In some of the cenotes, enjoy a refreshing swim in their crystal-clear waters, surrounded by natural scenery. Last, experience a guided tour by foot of the last cenote to discover stalactites, stalagmites, sacred plants, and learn about the rituals of the ancient Mayans.

Get picked up from your accommodation in Riviera Maya or Tulum and head to Sian Ka’an, a rich and diverse nature reserve south of Tulum. Board a small boat to visit Boca Paila lagoon and spot the local wildlife. Head out a short distance on open water to snorkel, if weather permits, on the Mesoamerican Barrier reef and be delighted by the healthy corals and abundance of fish. If the weather does not permit you to snorkel, visit an open cenote instead. See tropical saltwater canals, mangrove islands, and flooded sinkholes.  Return to the beach where your homemade lunch awaits you. Relax amongst the coconut groves or go for a swim in the sea before going back on the road. Get dropped off at your accommodation and reflect on the unique landscapes you just encountered.

Start your adventure by meeting your tour guide right in front of the swallows’ statue so that you can take the ferry ride to playa del carmen and enjoy a scenic 45 minute ride in the blue waters of the Caribbean. After that, you will take an air conditioned van/bus to the walled city of Tulum, in which you’ll explore the magnificent and restored temples rising above the Caribbean Sea. Tulum is an archeological site that offers one of the most beautiful sceneries of the world. You will be guided by a local expert through the secrets, facts, myths and wonderful legends of the ancient Mayan civilization, getting the opportunity to admire the detailed carved figures and frescoes on the walls of prominent buildings such as “El Castillo” (The Castle), The Temple of the Descending God and The House of the Columns, in which you will be able to shoot amazing photos during approximately 2 hours. After this unforgettable experience, you will return to your transportation in which you will enjoy a delicious light snack while getting back to Playa del Carmen, where you will catch the ferry just in time to be back to Cozumel.
