Begin your tour in Piazza Statuto, the "hearth of darkness." This part of Turin was considered an unlucky area and used as a burial site by the Romans that founded the city. At sunset, drive past scary stone monsters, sinister architecture, unusual statues adorning ancient buildings, and learn about a lesser-known detail of the Duomo, which houses the famous Holy Shroud.

From Turin: food and wine guided tour in Canavese

9. From Turin: food and wine guided tour in Canavese

This 1-day tour takes you on a discovery of Canavese, the borderland at the foot of the Alps of the Piedmont region, a natural gateway between the Italian peninsula and Europe. This region was a crossroad for armies, merchants, and pilgrims tracing the routes of the Via Salaria and Via Francigena through the valley of Mont Blanc and Graie Alps reaching Turin, the capital of the Savoy Reign and the first Italian capital. This land of lakes, hills, forests, and castles is protected by the Serra Morenica, one of the largest morainic hills in the world. Here the vineyards enjoy the sweetness of its microclimate, producing excellent wines including the Carema Nebbiolo and the Caluso Erbaluce. The Canavese cuisine has distinct flavors including cured meats and Alpine pasture cheeses, “Capònet” rolls of savoy cabbage with meat, stuffed onions with amaretto, “Ajucche” wild herb soup served with bread, and “Bagna Caòda”; the distinguished anchovy sauce served as a dip for crudités. All of this is just a taste of what awaits you on this tour. Detailed Itinerary: Noon: Guided tour in one of the castles of the Canavese region. According to seasonal availability and the clients' preferences, the options are the Castello di Agliè or the Castello di Masino. Then enjoy lunch in a local restaurant with a fixed menu and wine included. Afternoon: Guided tour of the city of Ivrea followed by wine degustation in a local winery.

We were in Turin from 16 to 18 July 2021, I had purchased the tickets for the Mole Antonelliana on the internet which in theory also had to include the use of the bus within the city for a whole day, the cinema museum that is located inside the Mole and the ascent by elevator to the panoramic terrace of the Mola. We were able to use the bus (red line) you must first collect the ticket and when we went to the Mola Antonelliana we discovered the catch! The ticket purchased did not include the priority ascent with the lift to the panoramic terrace! But only the entrance to the Cinema Museums, we would have had to make an additional ticket to use the lift, without considering the queue to be done. The gentleman at the entrance to the Mole told us that it has happened other times, that the convention for this ticket was no longer present! What a disappointment and what a rip off!

Tour guide Manuela and driver great, food was very good and plentiful, only the view was missing. All in all a great, informative and entertaining excursion!

ROUTE OF 1 HOUR THROUGHOUT THE CITY. VIEW OF MAIN STREETS OF THE CITY, MONUMENTS AND HISTORICAL BUILDINGS. DESCRIPTION OF HISTORY AND MUSEUMS.

1 hour wait before being able to enter the cinema museum and take the Mole elevator in Turin No priority queue to enter.

Excellent solution to visit the city without your own means and with the right directions
