Skip The Line Cappadocia: Small-Group Guided Tour

1. Skip The Line Cappadocia: Small-Group Guided Tour

The driver and the guide will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. Then you can decide with them what to visit. Cappadocia's most famous attraction, for good reason, is the Göreme Open Air Museum, a complex of medieval painted cave churches carved out by Orthodox monks. There are over 10 cave churches in the Göreme Open Air Museum. Along with rectories, dwellings, and a religious school, they form a large monastic complex carved out of a roughly ring-shaped rock formation in the otherworldly landscape of Cappadocia. Old Cavusin, with its rock-cut dwellings and stone houses, had several hermitages. The two most important churches in Cavusin are the Great Basilica dedicated to St. John the Baptist and Cavusin Church or the 'Great Pigeon House'. The old city of Avanos, whose name in ancient times was Venessa, overlooks the longest river in Turkey, the Kızılırmak (Red River). The ceramic trade in this district and its countless pottery factories date back to the Hittites, and the ceramic clay from the red silt of the Kızılırmak has always been used locally. Watch the potters at work using the kick wheel, using a technique that has not changed for generations. Pasabag, the remarkable earth pillars, can also be seen here, in the middle of a vineyard - hence the name of the place which means: the Pasha’s vineyard. Also known as Imaginary Valley or Pink Valley, this area does not have cave churches like the other valleys of Cappadocia. The small fairy chimneys in the valley form a lunar landscape, or moonscape, by their strange appearance. The valley has many animal-shaped rocks. Some of the most commonly seen shapes include camel, snake, seals, and dolphins.

Goreme Open Air Museum with Underground City Tour

2. Goreme Open Air Museum with Underground City Tour

After pick up, head to the deepest Underground city to explore its 4 floors, 30 meters deep. Move on to the highest point of the center of Cappadocia in Uchisar town, Uchisar Castle. Visit the most important sight, Goreme Open Air Museum, to see its many churches with wall paintings (frescoes) describing the life of Jesus Christ, dating back to the 10th century. The Cavusin village will be your next stop. Make the most of this trip to see an abandoned village and its Greek Houses.  Take some time for lunch in Avanos before visiting a pottery shop, and learn how to make potteries and seramics. Move on to Pasabag, a sacred place and home to many monks. In Pasabag, prepare to see some of the largest fairy chimney rock formations, with two or three caps each.  Finally, stop at Devrent Valley and marvel at its rock formations, shaped like animals, the reason that this place has been nicknamed Imagination Valley. At around 5:00 PM, head back to your hotel.

Göreme: Cappadocia Full-day Tour with Wine Tasting

3. Göreme: Cappadocia Full-day Tour with Wine Tasting

Experience the beauty of Cappadocia on this full-day trip from Göreme. Venture to the Red and Rose, Monks, and Pigion valleys. Watch a traditional pottery-making demonstration. Be picked up from the comfort of your hotel in Göreme. Sit back and relax as you are driven to the Red and Rose valley in Cappadocia. Admire how the light hits the pink-tinted ridges of the valley.  Head to the village of Cavusin to see cave houses that were carved into the soft volcanic tuff rocks and the rock-hewn churches. Drive to Monks Valley where you can see the mushroom-shaped dwellings that were carved by Byzantine hermit monks.  Next, travel to Pigeon valley which earned its name from the countless man-made dovecotes (pigeon houses) that have been carved into the rocks. Strop to savor some regional wines at a traditional wine estate. Uncover the history of wine in Cappadocia.  Continue to a center for artisanal workshops in the town of Avanos for a pottery-making demonstration. Make your way to the town of Uchisar to marvel at the 60-metre-high castle that was dug into the mountain and once housed over a thousand people. Return to your accommodation in Göreme.

As we only had one full day in Capadocciq we decide to get amday tour instead of the Balloon tour. We had Hazret as a guide and Ahmet as our driver, and this was just great! They were on tim and we had a costumed tour where Hazret had the patience and knowledge to explain us everything and show us all the main sightseeing of Capadoccia, leaving us enough time to explore and enjoy in our own pce, a beautiful day in their company. Thank tou both for this stunning experience!

Our guide Elif and our driver Ali made the day for us. They were punctual and extremely warm. The tour was well explained and well paced, not rushed at all. We could choose what to visit and what to skip without constraints. Elif was well versed with history and proficient in English. She even clicked beautiful pictures for us. We would highly recommend taking this tour on your visit to Cappadoccia.

Elif was a wonderful guide. She was very knowledgeable and very kind. She offers water and goes the extra mile in going deeper with the history. She speaks very good english also!

Great tour overall if you want to quickly cover the main attractions in Cappadocia. The guide, Ahmet provide us a lot of knowledge in the histories of the place. Would recommend.

Really fun experience. Covered everything you need in Cappadocia in a single day and skipped what I wanted to skip. Guide was laid back, informative, and helpful.
