3. From Ushuaia: Escondido Lake 4x4 Off-Road Trip with Canoeing

An off-road vehicle will pick you up at your hotel to take you through the Fuegian Andes Mountain Range to visit three special viewpoints. Take an opportunity to snap your best photo of Escondido Lake. Head down an old woodcutter's path across the forest and down a hill until reaching the lake. You then receive a technical briefing from your guide and grab the oars with your paddle buddy to start your 45-minute canoe excursion. Back on shore, start a 1-hour off-road adventure around the coastline of Lake Escondido, crossing the native forest until reaching Fagnano Lake, where you’ll enjoy a hot coffee and a delicious piece of cake before starting a 30-minute trek through the forest or around the shore. At the end of your Fagnano experience, prepare to taste a traditional asado (barbecue) in a cottage in the woods. While the meat sizzles in the fire, enjoy a classic picada (meat and cheese board) for an appetizer (beverages included) and visit the nearby Husky breeding center. You will then be dropped off at your hotel in Ushuaia at the end of the tour.

What people are saying about Ushuaia Department

A must do!! We had the chance to take this tour with my wife and we absolutely loved it. The guides were funny and whitty. Knowledgable and with a genuine love and interest for their work. The places we visited were great. It was a trully lovely visit and a great experience at the end of the world!!

Varied and fun activity, including kayaking, the 4x4 route and the "photographic" stops at the Miradors. Excellent lunch, even with vegetarian options (if requested earlier). I would have also liked to have a longer walk on foot than on the lake, but overall excellent.

Fantastic day. Great guides. Good food. Appropriate time to rest and be active. Unique experience.

Our guide Valentine was excellent, enthusiastic, informative and just good fun.

Great, versatile tour with very good care - was worth it.
