Monument Valley: Scenic 2.5-Hour Guided Tour

1. Monument Valley: Scenic 2.5-Hour Guided Tour

Enter the backcountry of Monument Valley to visit the popular arches, dwellings, and petroglyphs made by the ancient Anasazi people. Stop first to admire the Sleeping Dragon with clouds above, followed by the Chief’s Head with its bonnet of feathers.  Moving on, explore the traditional dwelling of the Navajo people known as hogans. Admire the round, cone-shaped, and multi-sided structures. With or without internal posts, they were built with timber or stonewall and packed with earth or bark. For a summerhouse, the door faces east to welcome the rising sun for wealth and good fortune. Your guide will provide information and a short demonstration of the Navajo people and their lifestyles.  Save the best for last and marvel at an arch that replicates a traditional hogan with an eagle eye looking upon you. Take a panoramic view of the Eye of the Sun, a beautifully shaped eye with sun rays beaming through it. Last will be the Ear of the Wind, standing against a steep sand dune that, if you walk up to it, you're most likely to bring home Monument Valley's souvenir: sand in your shoes.

The two-day Arches and Canyonlands Tour with Desert Solitude was by far the highlight of our trip to Utah. Neil is topnotch as a tour guide and so knowledgeable of the National Parks as well as the surrounding area. It was a bonus to have Amber with our tour, she is also a great tour guide and captured some great photos. It was so nice for my husband to not have to keep an eye on the road while seeing the beautiful sights, all so impressive. It was very hot when we were at the Parks which Neil accommodated as much as possible in planning our itinerary. With a private tour we were able to do and see at our pace and get to places the larger tours would not be able to. The backstories he told of the area and knowing the best viewing spots and hikes made the trip so much more interesting than if we had toured the parks on our own. We highly recommend this tour.

Really fun morning exploring slot canyons. Our guides were Tait and Easton who were terrific. They were knowledgeable, super friendly, great drivers and willing to take as many pictures as we wanted. The slot canyons were spectacular, and quite easy to navigate. We couldn’t go all the way into the Crimson one, due to standing water. But what we could see was amazing. Highly recommend this activity!

Excellent! The UTV ride was so much fun and our Guide, Tait was the best! He grew up in that area and knows each road, slot, fun facts and the people of the community. He took such amazing pics and showed us how to do it too!

Our guide,Stephen, was excellent. He was very personable and informative. He was eager to answer our questions and took time with his explanations. He made our tour mist enjoyable.

Had a great time and Brendon our driver was great, would definitely recommend this outfit
