Take a sightseeing tour of Victoria Square, Sotomayor Square, the naval heroes monument, and the May 21st Lookout. Take a walk into the hills, using 1 or 2 elevators or explore the bay area. Next stop in Viña del Mar, the city known as the Garden City. The bus arrived on time for the pick-up and the tour of Valparaiso (“Valpo” according to our guide, as the Chileans will shorten anything they can) was interesting - particularly the street art. You do need to be able to walk down steps for this part of the tour. Unfortunately, 2 members of the group went AWOL (no fault of the guide), so we lost some time waiting for them and our tour of Vina was somewhat curtailed. Our driver also had to take a diversion on the way back to avoid the road closures in Santiago.

Excellent tour! Pancho was very knowledgeable, funny and kind. I don’t remember our driver’s name but he was great also, I felt very safe. He was also very flexible with roads in Valparaiso. Great experience!

What people are saying about Valparaíso

The communication before hand was good and the pick-up was very prompt. Joseph, the guide, and Willy, the driver, were both friendly and helpful. They make an excellent team. In addition to giving good information, Joseph took many pictures of the group. We stopped for about 20 minutes on the way to feed llamas, get a beverage, and use the restroom. Once we arrived in Valparaiso, we made a stop to enjoy the view before getting out and taking a long walk through the streets and stairs of Valparaiso. The street art was amazing! Following the walk, we took the funicular down and made several more stops before returning to Santiago: to take a picture at the flower clock, at a museum to see a statue from Easter Island, and then for lunch at a restaurant across the street from the Pacific. We noted the tour from beginning to end..

We had a wonderful day with our tour guide Romi and driver who went out of their way to make sure the day was a success. Both Romi and driver were more than flexible, altering the tour to suit the group based on a consensual decision. Romi has an excellent command of English, great sense of humour and very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this tour, Romi and our driver (whose name escapes me).

Very enjoyable day out. Lots of information from a very knowledgeable guide. Walking tour of a hilly area of Valparaiso with some wonderful street art. Lunch on the beach in Viña del Mar was very good and on the way back to Santiago a stop at a vineyard with stunning views and even more stunning wines!
