2 Day South Coast Tour with Glacier Hike & Boat Tour

1. 2 Day South Coast Tour with Glacier Hike & Boat Tour

Begin by visiting the two great waterfalls of the south coast, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, as well as visiting the lesser known, more secret waterfalls of Glufrabui, Kvernufoss, and Irafoss. You will stop so that you can buy lunch. Drive under the great Eyjafjallajökull glacier volcano and the Mýrdalsjökull glacier cap, where you will take a glacier hike for about 1.5 hours and have a closer look at the Solheimajokull glacier. A bit further is the great Reynisfjara beach, where the sea crashes upon black sands and hexagonal basalt columns and rock stacks tower over the surroundings. You will be staying overnight in a very cosy accommodation, close to the famous Seljalandsfoss. On the second day you will take a closer look at majestic glaciers and lagoons. After a stop in the lovely village of Vik, you drive to visit the waterfall Foss á Sidu and the National Park in Skaftafell, where you will stop to buy lunch. Then you head to the amazing Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon where you will have an amphibious boat tour, sailing on the lagoon. The lagoon is full of huge chunks of ice which crack off Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier and float slowly out to sea. Some icebergs wash onto the shore, lying on the vivid black sand like diamonds on satin. There is a good possibility of seeing seals swimming around the huge icebergs. After enjoying this wonderful experience, you will head back in the afternoon towards Reykjavik.

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon & Boat Tour from Reykjavik

2. Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon & Boat Tour from Reykjavik

Discover one of the most incredible feats of nature on a sightseeing tour in southern Iceland. Go to the Glacier Lagoon of Jökulsárlón, and marvel at the icebergs and waterfalls of a glacier river. Following a pick-up from your hotel, transfer to Skaftafell National Park. Cruise among the icebergs on a 30-minute boat tour of the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Return to Reykjavik via the waterfalls of Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. At the latter, walk behind the cascades to feel the might of the waterfall up-close. Visit the charming village of Vík at the southernmost point of Iceland, and see the black sand beaches and sea stacks off the coast. If the weather is good, enjoy views of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano.

What people are saying about Vatnajökull National Park

It was an awesome experience , I still have another 4 days in Iceland but I’m worried that I did the best first ;) was beautiful , some of the videos I took is like a nature documentary I booked this tour and was super excited. But it managed to beat my expectations. The diamond beach , the glacier hike and the boat tours were amazing as well the canyons and waterfalls Our guide David was super awesome, he did bunch of Extra stops as well just for us. He was very professional during the glacier hike and it was super smooth and amazing . I can’t say enough good things about the tour and the guide. I liked nicetravel so much that I canceled one of my tours and I booked another tour with them Also the minibuses are modern and they all have usb chargers and wifi I’m a solo traveler so I was a bit worried about the shared bed and breakfast situation , it turned out that getyourguide didn’t update their website and you just get a single room with private bathroom covered

The organization of the tour was perfect, everything took place and worked as described. Michael, our guide was particularly attentive and welcomed us warmly from the start. He told us so many interesting facts about Iceland and its history. You could feel how much he loves this country. It was two exciting days with countless overwhelming impressions of the unique nature in Iceland. Michael brought us safely through the glacier hike, which was also easy for everyone to do. We were a small group with four guests. Very pleasant and almost a private, exclusive character! Great tour !!! thank you

A NICE tour along the South Coast of Iceland

The tour was well organized and gave us the chance to see so many beautiful sites on the South Coast, waterfalls, glaciers, black sand beaches and even more. The guide was knowledgeable and very professional, in driving and leading the glacier hike. The hostel where we stayed over night was very welcoming, clean and quiet. Food was good and affordable there.

It was one of the best trips. I loved everything. The hotel was very nice. Our guide Baldur was a very nice man and made us have a very wonderful trip. I recommend it very much!

David is so nice! Thanks so much for his company and patient explanation in the two days. Excellent experience!
