Full description
Enjoy a walk through Venice with an experienced guide. On this 3-hour tour you’ll take in the exteriors of the most important monuments of this beguiling city. You’ll also tour the Doge’s Palace with your priority entrance ticket. Your route begins in Piazza San Marco, where you’ll learn about the city’s origins and its history. Hear about the main monuments, including the Basilica San Marco, Palazzo Ducale, Bell Tower, Clock Tower and Procuratie. Head to Santa Maria Formosa, where you guide will tell you stories related to this characteristic square. See Campo SS Giovanni e Paolo, the Pantheon of Venice, Marco Polo’s house, and the Malibran Theatre. Return to San Marco by way of the Mercerie, a vital connection between Rialto and Piazza San Marco, as well the main street for shopping in the city! Skip the line at the Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace). For centuries this was the seat of Venetian political power. Its splendid rooms house hundreds of masterpieces of painting. The guide will show you the halls of power, taking you back in time to the European Middle Ages. You’ll marvel at the rich detail of the gold staircase and at the realism of the scenes depicted by many artists represented. You’ll also relive the anguish of prisoners crossing the famous Bridge of Sighs before their incarceration. Your priority admission ticket for the Doge’s Palace is included in the tour price.

Venice was beautiful, the tour guide was HORRIBLE!

Use another company if you can. The tour guide was MUCH worse then a recorded tour. I think she learned from a recorded tour a night before. She would take us from point to a next in complete silence, just walk for 2 minutes. No personality or interest in what she was doing, could not answer any questions. The worst tour guide we had in Italy.

Poor would have preferred British Guide

Group too large. Would rather have spent more and had a smaller group.
