Full description
Discover three very unique Venetian islands that are known for their picturesque scenery, unique history, and craft traditions. Hop on the ferry with your local host and enjoy a scenic cruise towards the first island of Mazzorbo. Rich in history and beauty, this is one of the quietest and idyllic islands in Venice. Wander around and take in its lush gardens, stunning vineyards, and a beautiful monastery as your local friend tells you all about local daily life on an island inhabited by only 350 people. Stroll alongside the lagoon with one of the most amazing views until you reach the long bridge that connects Mazzorbo to Burano, an island famous for its brightly colored houses, fine lace production, and the freshest seafood. Follow your local friend into the picturesque alleyways to the heart of the island until you arrive at the fisherman part of town. Check out the cutest boats at the dock and see former fisherman houses.  Before taking a coffee break, wander down secret alleys until you reach the bridge of Terranova from where you can enjoy the most breathtaking view of the leaning bell tower and from where you can really see how sharp its slope is. Stroll through the only square in the island where lace makers are at work at a traditional lace atelier. Don’t forget to check out the Love Viewing Bridge that connects three canals and three of the most colorful streets of Burano, before hopping on the water bus to Murano.  Let your local friend lead the way to a unique artisan workshop where you can admire the fantastic skills of two master glass blowers and brothers who make impressive works of glass. Wander past more hidden gems like an impressive industrial complex where they used to make beads, and a remarkable cathedral, before heading back to Venice. Hop on the water bus, feel the wind in your hair and let the impressions of your trip sink in as the sun falls into the lagoon.

We were able to spend a great day with our guide Valerio. He knew how to bring us closer to the authentic side of the islands and the history associated with them. The tour flew by and we would book a tour with Valerio again in a heartbeat. Clear recommendation from us!
