Vincenzo the guide was very informative and we went in to a little ice cave and then afterwards the adventure of the glacial hike. Such indescribably beautiful scenery. It was a very special highlight of our trip. It feels like you are in another world. The guides information about the history of the glacier and the air trapped inside the ice that forms "bubbles' being probably about 200-300 years old was very interesting. We also were talked through how to use our crampons on the ice, etc. I must say that Troll expeditions - the company who carry out the activity- are incredibly helpful and their customer service is fantastic. I had some questions about some potential road closures and how it would affect us getting there for the experience and they would email back and forth with advice and were very accommodating. In the end the roads did not remain closed and they were safe for travel, but, I was impressed with how quickly they responded to my emails. Very efficient.

The ice cave that we got into was smaller than we thought, nevertheless it’s a beautiful blue ice cave. Hiking the glacier is a bit tiring, but maybe that’s because we were not that fit. For family with kids and the elderly I would suggest finding a tour with easier paths. The views are AMAZING!! Great tour guide, knowledgable and fun, also lets us take all the pictures that we want. They’re also sensitive to our safety, and one of them even helped me climb down a hill because I was scared, shout out to Keisha(?)! There were some problems during the day of activity. When we went on the booked day, the weather was not suitable for glacier hiking (Icelandic weather is crazy!), so we only went for ice caving. When we got back, the person in charge said he will contact GetYourGuide for some kind of compensation since we did not get to hike the glacier. When we asked to join any glacier hiking that afternoon or maybe the next day, he gladly arranged a session for us!

We were meant to take a morning tour but had unforeseen car troubles and were afraid we would miss our tour. Ryan was so understanding and allowed us to join the afternoon tour instead. Janet was our guide and absolutely AMAZING! She was so knowledgeable about the glacier and ice caves--taking us to three ice caves during our visit as well as all over the glacier. She was so kind and helpful to my in-laws,who were on the tour with us and needed to take a few breaks throughout. She made sure it was a wonderful experience for our entire group, and she took picture after picture of us! This was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Iceland-- the weather was incredible, the area was gorgeous, and it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you, Janet and Ryan!

It's already been three months. It was a very interesting experience. I felt like I was on Mars. There was also a three-hour one, but it was excellent to choose five hours. Three hours is too short. You get off the bus, you have to walk for a long time, and you have to go up for a long time to see a good place. The average person can experience five hours of walking and resting. Don't be afraid. It seems to be necessary to experience glacial activity in Iceland. Thanks to the kind guide, it was a lively tour. It also explains how glaciers were created at every spot. (Thank you, Natalia) It's already become a place to miss. I wish the ice would stop melting, too. ^^

The best tour we had during our stay in Iceland! The landscape is magical and unique, for sure you have to visit a glacier as soon as possible, since everything is changing so fast due to enviromental polution. Our guide Franziska was lovely and gave us a lot of information about the geomorphological Iceland. Totally recommeded, we would spent more for a bigger tour for sure!
