  • Have an exciting ATV quad bike adventure
  • Take in the famous DC3 plane wreck on Sólheimasandur
  • Experience the black sand beaches and beautiful mountain valleys
Full description

The adventure starts with a short safety briefing on how to operate the ATVs. When everyone is ready, it's take-off time, when you'll head for the majestic black sand plains of Sólheimasandur. Cross this desert-like landscape and stop by the famous DC3 plane that crashed on the sands in 1973.

The guide will lead the group further over the sands to the spectacular coastline to witness views of the surrounding area. From the beach, see Dyrhólaey peninsula, the southernmost tip of Iceland. Looking inland, you can see the marvelous Mýrdalsjökull glacier in the distance.

Heading back over the sands and following the Jökulsá river, your adventure will conclude as you cross a river to enter a stunning mountain valley.

I planned this for my best friend’s birthday. He said it was the best birthday he has ever had! The experience was better than we thought. My best friend and I are large and we both were so happy that they had suits up to 5xl! Also, my best friend lost his very expensive shoe on the ride and the staff went out and found it. We were soooo thankful for them going the extra mile because we were on vacation. The trip was a nice long trip that had so many things to see! It was worth the money!

This is for the adrenaline junkies and aviation enthusiast! The hike to the DC-3 is pretty long, this way you get to have fun and see more of the area and spend less time doing it! Unlike other tours, the set up for the bikes with the suits and helmets was very quick and you leave right away. Definitely recommend. Only down side is they charge you if you’re a solo rider when couples booked and ended up taking their own ATVs and didn’t have to pay the “empty seat” charge. No one seems to monitor this.

We went with our 2 kids aged 11 & 8 for the 2hr atv safari. It was the best experience ever we had so much fun our guide Max was absolutely amazing & we learned lots about the area. We drove on black sand beaches, saw the plane wreck, drove through lupin fields & rivers. It was way better than we expected. Would highly recommend them and will definitely go again when in Iceland.
