Full description

Begin your journey in Virpazar, the tiny fishing village located in the heart of Skadar Lake. Leave its pier, gliding along a narrow river channel fringed by reeds and willows. Exit the channel and hit the deep-blue waters of Skadar Lake. Admire views of mountains far away in Albania and the island Vranjina, proudly standing against the largest lake in Southern Europe. Turn left, and go under the bridge Tanki rt. See the endless fields of water chestnuts enshrouding the lake. Discover the 18th-century fortress Lesendro which still hides the secret of Njegoš's eternal sorrow. Spy birds lined up along the remains of the walls. Admire the three nearby islets and the view they hide - white and yellow water lily flowers and their large, floating, dark green leaves. Pass through the heart of the fjord Pavlova strana and reach the old fisherman's village called Rijeka Crnojevića. Uncover the village's historical significance, authentic architecture, and beautiful natural environment. Have the chance to try delicious Montenegrin specialties. Take your time and explore this beautiful tiny townlet. After one hour, climb your boat again and head back to Virpazar. After some time, you will stop at a place surrounded by open water and the rough Montenegrin coast, and you will have extra time to go swimming.

This is a nice cruise and I'm glad that we did it. The lake is beautiful and swimming in the middle of it is something we liked the most. Nonetheless, the village "River of Crnojević" (which is the end point of the 3-hour cruising) is absolutely not worth visiting - there are only 3 cafes where you can have lunch in case you manage to find a table. Additionally, the captain of our boat was not very engaging and informative, he gave us some basic information during the first 20 minutes of the cruise and then was silent most of the time (unless someone asked him questions).

Was a totally relaxed tour of the lake. Because the water was too low we couldn't go all the way up the river and the 6 hours turned into 3. The money has been refunded accordingly. A visit to the monastery and a refreshing swim at a water temperature of 27 degrees are only recommended. A glass of wine at the end...

This tour is a must have if you plan on visiting Montenegro. Our tour guide was Slavko. He was very easygoing, kind and funny and told us funny/interesting stories out of his life in Montenegro. We saw many beautiful places, had good talks, food and alcohol tasting. The tour was totally worth the price
