Wellington: Return Cable Car Ticket

1. Wellington: Return Cable Car Ticket

Follow the Cable Car signpost around Lambton Quay to find the hidden Cable Car Lane in the heart of the city centre.  Wellington's iconic Cable Car travels through three historic tunnels and over three bridges. There are three intermediate stations; the residential areas of Clifton, Talavera and Salamanca. Victoria University of Wellington and Kelburn Park Fountain can be accessed from the Salamanca Station. Enjoy the panoramic views of Wellington city and the harbor from the top of the Cable Car. To get back down into the city, there are several walks through the hillsides of the Botanic Garden, including a beautiful 40-minute stroll back down to the city centre via the historic Bolton Street Cemetery and the Beehive. Or if you prefer an easier route back down, choose the return journey option. This allows you plenty of time to enjoy the views and explore the surrounding attractions at the summit before heading back.

What people are saying about Wellington

I was able to skip the line with this advance purchase ticket and save a lot of time. I came into town on a cruise ship and the ticket line wrapped around the block. Same price as getting it in person so I was very happy! Enjoyed the short ride to the top and had a nice breakfast at the little restaurant. There's also a pharmacy which was great for picking up a couple needed supplies. Highly recommended!

The Te Papa was a beautiful museum. Must see place if you are planning to visit Wellington. As admission is free I would suggest going a few times in order to fully appreciate all there is to see. The Gallipoli exhibit was particularly moving and worthwhile paying for the 9:30 am guided tour and then taking your time to really take it all in (at least an hour or maybe even more).

Was very good. Had our ride then had a drink in the cafe which was very busy. The staff were working very hard.

An outstanding construction and display of war memorials in the main museum

It was eye opening, put together very well. So much information
