1. Amsterdam: Zaanse Schans with Cheese Tasting & Clog Factory

Join a guided bus tour from Amsterdam to visit the windmill village of Zaanse Schans, an open-air museum housing working windmills, wooden houses, barns, and shops dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Enjoy live commentary from your guide, a clog workshop, and a cheese-making demonstration. Meet your guide and driver at a central meeting point just across from Central Station in Amsterdam. Settle in for a comfortable, air-conditioned ride on a single deck bus that will take you to your destination in just 20 minutes. Upon arrival in the village, follow your guide for an orientation tour of the village. Visit the clog museum for a live wooden shoemaking workshop. Then, taste some Dutch farmer cheese on the cheese farm. Get a sense of what the village was like in the 18th and 19th centuries. Alongside windmills and barns, see houses that were originally built as homes for rich windmill owners and merchants. Admire their colorful facades painted in traditional hues of green, beige, and light blue. Finally, it is time to further explore the village on your own. Before you set off, take insider tips from your guide and learn about the region's local history and culture. At the end of the tour, hop back on the bus for your return journey to Amsterdam.

Despite the horrendous weather this was a fantastic trip and well worth getting soaked for. The guide added funny little comments throughout the tour and gave some great facts along the way. The clog making was great to watch as was the cheese making and tasting. We managed to get into two of the windmills and ventured to the top of one, although the severe weather was against us doing much more, I can safely say I would like to repeat this day trip should I get the chance to go to back to Amsterdam in the summer. The coach was clean and comfortable there and back. The tour time of 3.5 hours includes half hour travel time each way.

Great value for money, Short ride but it takes you to other world then city.. Village that smells on chocolate, local households, greenary, wind mills , what else to look for .. Its great half day tour

It was really nice, the person explained everything very well. But you need to keep in mind that this tour is from the museum. So you should go in and check-in before the tour starts.

We a had a very nice tour guide, a lady who explained us in details the history of Amsterdam, it's population and story of the windmills.

This is a perfect tour to get a taste of Amsterdam, without being out all day
