Dresden is a very beautiful, light spirited city, especially in summer, when you can appreciate the serene setting of the historic centre. Although Dresden is larger than Munich when measured by area, the historic center is quite compact and walkable. Once having arrived in Dresden, you will be free to sight-see as you please. You can visit city highlights such as Frauenkirche (the original Church of Our Lady which was completely destroyed during World War II, and later reconstructed), and the City of Coventry (which was raided by the Luftwaffe in World War II), where you can check the ruins which sit in the basement. Do not miss the tower visit, and be sure to bring good shoes to climb in. You can also discover the Zwinger Palace (a Baroque palace featuring a nympheum), and the "Alte Meister", where you'll find the famous Madonna Sistina of Rafael there, including the well known angels. Other city highlights include the Museum on the Arms of Saxon Kings, the Schloss und Grünes Gewölbe, The Historic Green Vault (at an additional cost), Semper Oper, and the Elbe Valley. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be returned back to Wroclaw.
