Full description
Discover the diversity of this great city, its ingenuity, and its mixed legacy created by Poles, Czechs, Austrians and Germans. Your tour starts in the Market Square (Rynek), where you’ll be amazed by the unique beauty of the late Gothic City Hall. Strolling through the medieval streets, you’ll come across the beautiful university campus, where the main assembly hall is a striking example of the Baroque architecture from the Hapsburg times.   Continue on to wander through enchanting medieval streets and admire the variety of architecture styles on display. Throughout, your guide will tell you funny stories, quirky legends, and mysterious facts hiding behind each building. He’ll also point out for you the many gnome statues that make this city so unique. You’ll learn the story behind these gnomes and in particular, why there are so many of them.   Your tour concludes in the oldest part of Wroclaw, Ostrow Tumski. Located here is the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, as well as many other churches and cloisters that lend the area an extraordinarily spiritual atmosphere. Your guide will be happy to give you suggestions of where to go from here to complete your exploration of the city.

Our guide Sean was very knowledgeable about the history of Wroclaw and knew a lot of details. We have learned a lot and had a great time. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to visit significant sites in the city and learn about the history of each of them.

I was the only guest on a snowy midweek tour. Shawn (native English speaker) was a superb guide, very well prepared, informative, impressive knowledge of Polish history. A great introduction to Wroclaw. I felt sorry for the huge groups on the free tour whose guide sounded robotic., when I had such an interactive tour

It was a small group, joined our guide, Sean at rendezvous point as agreed. He gave us a broad overview using pictures and maps to illustrate the history of the city before we set off. This gave the tour great context. With only five tourists it was easy to comprehend and we walked at a fair face. Very enjoyable. Sean was knowledgeable and the interaction was good
