Full description
Explore the Greek island of Zakynthos and discover why the Italians described it as "the flower of the East.” Learn about the island’s agriculture on a guided tour at an organic farm and enjoy samples of the local produce. Later, walk around beautiful Zante Town, to learn about the port city’s history and take in the beautiful harbor views.    You’ll be picked up in an air-conditioned bus and travel to Therianos Farm in the small village of Kallithea. Enjoy a guided tour conducted by a family member of this traditional, family-run organic farm.   Learn about how the many products, such as olive oil, grapes, apples, lemons, and walnuts, are produced on the farm. Have a chance to taste some of the in-season varietals, and then wander through the adjacent shop for some local products or handmade crafts to take home. After the farm tour, drive a short distance to Zakynthos Town, the capital city of the island. Stop at the Greek Orthodox St. Dionysios Church, named after the patron saint of the island. Take a moment to light candles and see the silver casket that houses the remains of St. Dionysios. The bus will then continue to Solomos Square where you will be dropped off to enjoy the rest of the evening, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. Shop at your own leisure, have a meal or drink at one of the numerous taverns or restaurants, and stroll along the waterfront. In the high season you can take a relaxing horse-and-carriage ride along the harbor road.   The bus will depart from Zakynthos Town at about 10:00 PM for the return trip to your resort.

A really nice way to visit the organic farm on Zakyntos. You get very good and nice information about the olive oil and products that this family business produces. You can also taste and buy wine and other products. Then to a beautiful church of Dyonisos to light a candle, after which you can spend a few more hours in Zante city. Thanks to Alexandra for her cheerful and wonderful guidance! Definitely do this tour
