Full description

Venture to the top of the highest glacier in Europe and behold panoramic views of the terrain that surrounds you. Enjoy an outing in the village of Interlaken, visit the Sphinx observatory, and ride a train that will elevate you 3454 meters to the zenith of Jungfrau.

Start your adventure at the Zurich Central bus station and hop aboard your air-conditioned bus. Enjoy a short and scenic drive to your first destination, Interlaken.

After a quick stop in Interlaken, board the Jungfrau rack train from Lauterbrunnen. Take in gorgeous views and ascend 3454 meters.

Arrive at the top and depart from the highest altitude railway station in Europe. Take in views of the surrounding terrain from the zenith of the highest glacier in Europe.

Visit the Sphinx observatory which provides you with some of the best views you can get of the two most famous peaks, Eiger and Mönch. Wander into the heart of the glacier and walk through the ice tunnel to experience the “Alpine Sensation” that traces the history of the Jungfrau. The schedule fits for a day trip. But we don't have time for a lunch. Have to be a quick snack otherwise you can't see all the locations in Jungfrau. After that was an hour free time in Interlaken before heading back to Zurich again not much time there and only a glimpse for the town.

An all-round successful day and trip! We started punctually at 8 a.m. with a minibus in Zurich. Evan, our driver was very personable and knowledgeable. He speaks very good and understandable English and provided us with all the necessary information. It is important to follow the weather forecast before booking your trip, because the trip is only worthwhile when the weather is nice. The weather report on the Jungfraujoch homepage was reliable in our case.

Everything was on the good level, comfortable small bus with panoramic windows, speedy but careful (experienced) driver, which explained everything simply and clearly. What was the best for me is that we didn’t have to think where and how to buy tickets on mountain trains, where to sit with 2 children (as I saw those who travel by themselves often couldn’t find the seat in train as it was crowded), how to plan the time in order to reach Zurich by evening: everything was provided, reserved and organised.
